FISH'S 4TH OF JULY Greetings my friends now just set back and take a little trip with fish back to a great 4th of July. Just keep in mind that this may or may not be true. Many many years ago when fish was a wee lad and firecrackers were legal. Whenever fish and his parents went back down home he always stopped and bought some firecrackers just north of the river.

Did you ever see how high you could make a can go up in the air, or did you ever practice lighting them and trying to hit the damp rock wall[ this is the side of the mountain that is always wet] just as they go off. Now fish done all these things and the one he remembers most was. On a dark black night just before the 4 Th of July. Fish and one of his nephews went slipping out in the dark of night. There was this house where these people lived that supposedly had a moon shine still. Getting way up above the house, which had a tin roof'. And putting lit firecracker in a purex bottle. They were brown glass bottles back then. Now when that bottle went off and the glass hit the roof we yelled revenuers and ran like all get out. But not before we saw people jumping out the winders and leaping out the doors. Buster was wearing his red long johns with a big patch on the seat carrying a shotgun in one hand and a jug in the other. Billy Bob had one leg in his bibs and fell and rolled down the hill. Grpa ran out the door shot gun blazing at the sky oops in his birthday suit. The hounds were howling the mules were braying. Chancy and several other just jumped out the winders and took of running down the hill. Each and everyone had a jug in their hands with a death grip on it.

Let me tell you fish and his nephew made a dust cloud going up the side of that mountain. That is the 4th of July that fish will never forget and I bet a lot of other people also. So may God give us many more years and keep us safe from all our enemies. May your boat never leak May the fish always bite May you line never break
